some conte on newsprint from life drawing. All 20 minute. As you can tell, I like the broad sweep of the conte crayon. I know it isn't a very traditional way of using it, but it is how I taught myself and it works for me.
a one hour portrait of Susan done at life drawing. Oil on oil primed panel. Limited palette, yellow ochre, cad yellow, cad scarlet, tuscan red, ultra blue, burnt umber, burnt sienna, flake white.
10x10 oil on canvas. A few last minute fixes and it will be done. This is something I painted before. I think it looks much better this time. I was experimenting with softer brushes and a different color combination in the hair, trying to get away from using earthtones so much. .
